Virginia A. Schwamm is Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy -- the only national specialization program in Family Law recognized and approved by the American Bar Association.
Ms. Schwamm graduated from the University of Tennessee with honors in 1978 with a B.S. in Business Administration. She did graduate work at the University of Tennessee in Labor Economics. Ms. Schwamm received her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law with honors in 1990. She is admitted to practice before the Tennesee Supreme Court and all Tennessee courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Virginia A. Schwamm has over 25 years practice and litigation experience. Her practice is located in Knoxville,Tennessee but she has appeared in courts across Tennessee on behalf of her clients. Ms. Schwamm is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She has served as the Chair for the Family Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association and has lectured widely for both the Tennessee Bar Association and other organizations on the topic of Family Law. She has served on the Tennessee Family Law Code Commission and the Tennessee Juvenile Code Commission. She was named as one of "Knoxville’s Top Attorneys” in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 by Cityview Magazine, was designated a Mid-South Super Lawyer in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was recognized by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys as a nationally ranked "Top 10 Attorney" in 2015.
